The FBA # 3 presented by ANARCHY eyewear was another great contest in Flagler Beach.

Conditions were good for the contest, waves were in the 3-4 ft range and a cold breeze all day. Many competitors were fighting to take the season championship titles in their respective divisions.

Red Bull showed up with their energy drinks to get all competitors pumped up for the vent.

The PRO division was a fight till the end. Carlos Jenkins could not make this event, opening the door to those chasing him. At the end, Alfonso "PAYA" Parodi took the first place in the PRO & MASTER division, that was enough to get the Championship season title in these 2 divisions as well. Dan Worley missed the first event of the season while he was doing the World Tour of Bodyboarding (IBA), oppotunity that was not wasted by competitiors.

Andre Moura is a contest beast. With tons of experience under his belt, he took the AM season title for the 2009, even with a third place at this event. First place went to Austin Dalton, another young talent from Florida.

Our second event of the season was a full 2 days event, making this contest the largest Bodyboarding Event in Florida.

Conditions were great on both days. Glassy 3-4 ft waves all day long under sunny skies made this a real nice beach day for Saturday and simlar conditions, but smaller, for Sunday. 

All divisions were pretty competitive. The PRO divisions showed to all spectators a great group of guys talented enough to have everyone at the beach watching all the heats. From first round of PRO through the Final, we could watch many solid maneuvers, INVERTS, ARS, BARRELS and many more. The entire PRO division was scheduled on MAN on MAN heats, providing a different edge to the event. At the end, Dan Worley took home $500 for the first place.

Devin Ricke took first place in the DK, Steven Tyson took first place in the AM, Alfonso Parodi took first place in MASTERS. For the first time ever, we had a JUNIOR division in the water. The FBA is commited to promote the sport for the youth.

This event also provided an EXPRESSION SESSION sponsored by INVERSTYLE.COM. The best one trick in a wave went to Austin Dalton and Steven Vitale....

Our second event is coming soon, September 12 & 13. You need to download your entry form as sson as possible and mail it with a check or cash paid to Al Rumbos. There will be a $10 fee for beach entry.

Brian Holloway took 1st place in the PRO division to star the new season with 500 points. He had to go through the semi-main heat to make it to the Finals, but after that, Brain took it to the next level. Dan Worley, one of the favorites in this division, could not attent this event. Dan was in Brazil doing the Word Tour of the IBA. Congratulations to all winners!!
