Vero Beach, Fl (Saturday, January 21, 2012) – Brian Holloway took the first Place in the PRO division in the 3^rd stop of the season in the BODY GLOVE FBA TOUR 2011. With this win, Brian secures the FBA Season Championship Title 2011. It was a very close final, where all four competitors could have won the event. The BODY GLOVE FBA TOUR closed the 2011 season with stop # 3 in Vero Beach, Florida. This event was originally scheduled for December 10, 2011, but due to bad weather, it had to be set for a new date on January 21, 2012.

Vero Beach offered a great beach day for the event, unfortunely the waves didn’t cooperate much. Contest was held close to minimum contestable conditions, but that didn’t stop the fierce competitors to show their skills in the water. There were several divisions where season championships were on the line and most of them came down to the wire.

Devin Ricke took the first place in the DK division and Jared Gunnels did the same in the JUNIOR and AM divisions, showing all the experience he accumulated during his time in Hawaii.

Here are the FBA Season Champions 2012:

-          Dan Worley – DK

-          Steven Vitale – AM

-          Jacob Beede – JUNIOR

-          Luz Marie Grande – WOMEN

-          James Russell – STAND UP

Continue reading »]]> Due to extreme weather conditions, the last event of the BODY GLOVE FBA TOUR 2011 was canceled. Mother Nature did not want to help this event going.

The new date is set for Saturday, January 21 2012 in Vero Beach, Fl. Same location, same time.

Those already register in the event will not have to register again. This new date also open the online registration for those that could not make it last week. Please, avoid the $10 late fee by registering online. All payments due at the beach.

The STAND UP division is also open for this event. We will be updating the online form to open this division.

Continue reading »]]> Riders from around the world are arriving on the beautiful shore of Puerto Rico for the Encanto Pro Puerto Rico, a GSS event for Men as well as a Grand Slam for Women and DK

The thing that sets this event above all others in 2011 is the fact that the trials for the main event will offer US$10,000 and 2200 GQS points for the qualifiers.

” The three IBA world titles could be decided here and its going to be amazing to watch history unfold ” said IBA Tour manager Terry McKenna.

Indian Harbor Beach, Florida (September 17 & 18) – Brain Holloway took the first place in the PRO division at the second event for the BODY GLOVE FBA TOUR 2011. Less than a point separated Holloway for the second place Dan Worley. The second stop in the Tour is a double point event, making this contest, a make or break for Final Standings and season Championships.

Conditions were not the best for this Bodyboarding event, but definitely contestable. Waves were in the 2-3 ft range with some onshore winds.  The Jelly Fish was a big factor. All competitors had to endurance the pain of competing under those conditions.

Saturday was another great day at the beach and the journey started with a paddle out for our fellow Bodyboarder Eddie Solomon. Former Professional Bodyboarder and Business leader in the sport was battling Cancer for more than a year. Friday, September 16 he left us for a better life. Then on Saturday, without much planning, all competitors were more than happy to participate in the Paddle Out. Hundred of them were scheduled during the weekend all around the world.

The turnout was great. Competitors in all divisions were so stoked to see so many Bodyboarders in the same place. A new division was also offered at this event, Stand Up, these guys showed some serious skills riding waves. In the DK division, Dan Worley took the first place. “I won the DK Division and came up just hairs away from taking the Pro, so stoked to have such a turn out” Worley said. “I got 2nd in Pro to longtime friend a fierce competitive rival Brian Holloway”

In the Junior division, Jared Gunnels took the First Place. The Hawaiian just moved to Florida few months ago and was super stoked to find a great vibe in this event. The Women division count with the presence of Professional Bodyboarder Luz Marie Grande from Puerto Rico. She is currently in the top 10 in the World Tour (IBA). James Russell came back to the competitive scene after many years of free surfing and took the first Place in the Stand Up division. The AM went to Steve Vitale in a very close Final.
